plugs, callaway GTV6, L-jet

I'm just full of opinions today, it seems. Please pardon the excesses.

On sparking plugs, am using Bosch platinum in the Milano 3.0 and no
complaints, especially w.r.t. price (think they were $6-$8 a pr. a few years
ago - jeez, guess i've had them awhile!)

Saw a black Callaway GTV6 in for major heads-off service at Alfieri
Automobiles in Toronto last year, kind of rough, but even so it tugged
fiercely at the heart strings. Had some really nice (imho) 16" Campagnolo
wheels (a few large oval holes in a slightly dished face) that i've never
seen anywhere else and were perfect for it.

Have some Strong Opinion about the L-jetronic system such as in Milanos and
gtv6's: Total Crap! Would rather throw it out than fix it!
It looks like a real hodge-podge of add-ons, gimmicks and barnacles (like
the idle air control device). Am hoping that before spending another cent on
it, it can be replaced with an aftermarket tunable distributorless control
system. Yup, they do cost a lot, maybe $2K or more. Does make for a fun
project but there are so many systems to choose from and so much to learn
beforehand. Some have really interesting features like wide-band O2 sensor
feedback control, traction control, temp and altitude compensation,
self-learning and a bunch of other cool stuff (even telemetry options -
real-time monitoring of your teenage driver?!)

Does anybody have experience with aftermarket engine electronics (like
Haltech, MoTec, EFI, Electromotive or whatever?)

Hmmm... . wondering if the techies here at work could design me a system?
