Sorry to hear about your dilemma.  You might consider going for a used
engine as a less expensive alternative.  Soudns like Doug has a nice one,
or try calling Dean Russell and see if he has anything around.  

If you're looking for a second opinion, I'd also call Dean.  He's a great
guy and is extremely honest.  He's about the only person I trust to work
on my Alfa's, but he is usually pretty busy.  His number is 313-561-3327

I still like the 3 liter option.  The offer still stands to come
drive mine.  Another option (albeit a pricier option) is to look at the
gorgeous red Verde Dean has on his lot.  :-)

Good luck with your decision.  If anything else goes wrong with my
Milano in the next week, I might just give it to you!
