Wine Country Classic

Hi,
Just a brief note about the Wine Country Classic held at Sears Point
Raceway. The event was hosted by the Delta Sierra Alfa Romeo Owners
Club, and they should be commended for the nice job they did on putting
the event together, getting the tickets out on time and putting together
a great corral. To say nothing of the camraderie they inspired. The
showing of Alfas was probably one of the largest, yet the track
goofballs refused to let them have a more desirable spot, and went
unused, save for the tiny grouping of another marque who only drew 17
cars. Pathetic, Sears Point who seem to have no ability with the term
"flexible." The day was excellent, the action on the track was great,
and Felix and his Alfa TZ was a shining example of Alfa racing and a
tribute to our marque clubs. We were all rootin' for him. YOU ALL MISSED
A GOOD DAY.

As an aside, some may or may not agree with Webster, but actually the
only character on any car is the letters on the body and elsewhere about
the car. Character is also a human trait that we sometimes assign to our
favorite cars (as I have always done). But no different than a sea
captain referring to his ship as "she." Or Tornados with human names.
Because they would seem to take turns having problems, I was convinced
my spider and my GTV had nightly conversations, and planned the entire
sick days each seemed to delight in, just to annoy hell out of me.
There, I just hadda get that out.
