Michael Who?

Michael Who?
Remember who was the first to become a multi-millionaire in sports? If
you guessed Gaius Apuleius Diocles, you're right. Surely, you remeber
Diocles. He drove chariots and won 1,462 races from 122 to 126 A.D.
His career earnings, converting to today's U.S. greenbacks, came to
about $36 million. In other news Michael Schumacher won the Monaco
Grand Prix, becoming Ferrari's career victory leader with 16. Well he
does have 35 total but that still leaves him a ways to go. Looks like
Italians were racing well before Alfa and Ferrari. So wo did Diocles
drive for and was his chariot red?
