starter problem

Sounds as though someone lubricated the solenoid armature and it now hangs
up to keep it cranking.  Starter solenoids armatures operate without
touchhing the core,it levitates.  When the armature is activated it plunges
full length and closes the circuit to run the motor.  It will stay there
until currend halts by way on the ignition switch.  However, if it hangs up,
the only way to stop it is by disconnecting the battery. Take the solenoid
apart and wash it thoroughly with a solvent that degreases and reassemble
