164 stuck in park

On the passenger side of the console, just below the plastic console trim, 
there is a plastic "button".  It may be obscured by the seat depending on how 
far forward the seat is adjusted.  On my 164 it is black.  Remove the button 
and inside there is a switch.  Press the switch and the shifter is released 
from park.  You can leave the switch accessible and use this method until 
repairs are made.
