I've driven my '74 GTV for 9 years with the entire heater system
by-passed with a hose. I've been meaning to attend to this.

It takes an in-ordinate amount of time to warm up and only overheats at
Laguna Seca going uphill trying to get to the Alfa corral during the
Monterey weekend.

Hope this helps. It doesn't when it rains; even in So. Cal. !
