 Subject: Oil pressure gauge

This weekend I replaced the oil pressure sensor on my 91 Spider. The Oil
pressure gauge has never registered anything in the time I have owned this
car- Since Jan 99. After replacing the sensor, I started the car and let it
reach normal operating temp. My understanding is that during Idle, Spiders
do not register oil pressure. >>

Absolutely not!!! At idle should typically be pointing at first tick mark ---
manual always says 7-10 psi ----- I need see good engines below about 20-25.
Are you sure you replaced the correct sending unit ---- rear side below intake
manifold --- above starter. The sender is almost always the problem.
