Fwd: Wheels - think positive !

I thought people on the Alfa Digest would be interested in one last
comment on the wheel offset question I posed the other day. Tom O'Brien
is an ex-Ferrari factory racer, ex-Alfa Romeo racer and dealer, and still
well connected with the SCCA and various folks at GM and other places. It
was actually he who brought up the question as he's building another race
car presently and selecting wheels for it. I consider the response from
Ed Heitzman definitive, and feel that Tire Rack's definition is
incorrect.
However, I concur 100% with the opinion that the most important thing is
to know how a given vendor defines offset so that when you order wheels
you get the desired product!

Hi Godfrey,
Talked to Ed Heitzman today who was with GM Staff Research - currently
doing rollover instrumentation and tests for the big mfgs.
Anyhow - adding more positive offset wheels to a car would increase the
track. Tirerack has it backwards and you were correct.
