Yep, the rubber seal from the sending unit IN the tank has gone . . 

Get some chassis kit (or any kit which is fuel resistant)
Locate the unit, remove it, clean surfaces, apply chassis kit, 
reinstall unit, with old seal on the unit, allow to dry
(if using 3M chassis kit 12 hours at least)

I don't know where the unit is located in a spider, but on a 75/90 et al
it's under the rear seat....
