The speedo's accuracy in our 164S seems to vary from mile-to-mile and
day-to-day. The 158 mph reading was more than a year ago at a time when the

speedo was testing out almost to the exact mph indicated in the 70 mph
range
(timing with the help of a 10 mile stretch of mile markers on the
Interstate).
How accurate it was at the actual time of the 158 mph reading achieved on a

two-lane highway is debatable.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to see the tiny mile marker signs attached
to
other traffic signposts - on either side of the roadway, no less -
*approximately* every two miles on the two lane highways of Texas (most
folks
don't even realize these tiny mile marker signs are present). You could
have a
serious accident trying to read them at speed... #8^O

With a 10% error that equals 142 mph, so somewhere between 142 and
158...it's
your call. BTW, Alfa Bill was mistaken about the 151 mph reading when he
was
with us on the One Lap trip. I never exceeded a 135 mph reading on that
particular day. Sorry, Bill. Did it seem like 151 to you?
