Reset air bag on 91 Spider

My 91 Spider is showing air bag warning light and the code for front
sensor.  Mechanic cleaned the contact points etc but did not have the
Alfa reset tool and used a pair of wires to reset.  Others have told me
the official Alfa tool is needed to reset.  I suspect the problem is
fixed but the computer just doesn't know it because it hasn't been reset
properly.  

I'm thinking of selling the car this spring and want to have everything
right.  I am in Des Moines, Iowa and had planned to take the car to
Omaha, Neb to have former dealer there reset and test the system but I
just learned today that he has basically gone out of the Alfa business
and sold his tools to Centerline.  

1.  What are the chances that all I need to do is reset the system
properly?

2.  Does anyone know if the official Alfa reset tool is needed to reset
the system or if there is some other way to do it?

3.  And if needed, who would have the reset tool?  Kansas City may be my
next closest alternative.  Is there anyone who would send me the tool for
use on a rental basis?
