'58 spider

Correct me if I am wrong, but if a 101 or 105 series 5 speed were
installed in a '58 spider, presumably a 750 series car, would it not
have to have had surgery on the transmission tunnel to accomodate the
shift lever location???  Of course, my memory could be faulty...
