You can tap the brake pedal a few times and get them to go off.  

In a possible related matter - the curse seems to not be working any 
more.  Although it seems like this problem happen while the cruse was 
still functional.

I've replaced several switches - using OE and Faucet - w/o much luck.

A pointer in a general direction would be great.
