164 Stereo

I was trying to put a DIN chassis CD player in my '91 164 last weekend.  I
bought one of the conversion kits at the local parts store and tore into
the project.  The mounting method for the Chrysler stereo seemed to defy
use of any of the new components. I finally gave up and put the old stero
back in. 

Has anyone installed an aftermarket DIN stereo in their 164 and what was
involved?  Thanks.
