<<Subject: pertronix ignitor/cv boots

Can anyone please enlighten me as to what parts suppliers have Pertronix
Ignitor electronic ignition conversions available for a '73 GTV 2L w/
Marelli points? I can't seem to find a website for them, and don't
think that the JC Whitney guys would be able to come up with anything
for this application - or am I underestimating them?
I opted for the Pertronix over the Crane since there is no external
module, and performance/reliability seems to be about the same. Anyone
with firsthand experience one way or the other care to comment? >>

I have Pertronix conversions on a Mini, Morrris Minor and MGB. Got them a=
ll
from J.C.Whitney, even though their catalog implied they only offered uni=
ts
for American cars (whatever that means these days -- Honda, Mercedes, BM=
W,
Mazda, etc.) and VW. So far they work quite well. However, a friend of mi=
ne
did get a defictive unit and Pertronix replaced it at no charge. It did
take a while.

On my SAAB Sonett (v4 with Bosch distributor) I used a similar unit by
Compu-Fire. The VW parts store where I bought it claimed they sold this
brand because they had so much trouble with Pertronix. This Compu-fire
system works fine, also.
