re: milano shocks & hood release cable

bill,

i'd suggest shankle street-sport front torsion bars & rear springs, and front &
rear sway bars from alfa-ricambi. an alternate to the springs (shankle
street-sports are rated at 121 lbs/inch) would be the stock gtwe6 springs - 103
lbs/inch. the stock milano springs are 91 lbs/inch. stock gtwe6 springs also
won't lower the car as much. be sure to get the weld-in front sway bar
reinforcement plates. for the rear shocks, i'd suggest the halcorp shocks,
awailable from alfa heaven, or spax shocks. these both are adjustable while on
the car. koni's must be removed to be adjusted.

as far as the hood release not working, it sounds like the plastic fitting at
the lever-end of the cable is pulling thru its mounting point. you can use a
hollow cup-shaped flange-nut (don't remember the correct name for this type of
nut) - the flanges of the nut will fit in the cable mount, and the hole in the
nut will allow for passage of the cable, while holding the cable sheath-fitting.

good luck,

doug s
