164 Airflow Meter Question

Inside the airflow meter (AFM) on my 164 (visible when the black cover is
pried off) is a potentiometer. It's the type that is adjusted with a small
screwdriver, so I assume it is used to calibrate the AFM in some way, but I've
never seen any discussion or read anything about it in the service manual.

Does anyone know any details about this device and its adjustment?
