Speedo/Odo Stopped

Recently the speedometer stopped working in my '88 Spider.  Doesn't
register a thing.  At the same time the odometer stopped turning.  My
workshop manual doesn't have a thing about speedo toubleshooting.  Does
anyone have a suggestion as to where might be the best place to begin my
diagnosis?  Thanks in advance for any input.

accelerator linkage.
