Broke brakes...the rest of the story

FYI and thanks to all who responding to my plea for help - the solution was
simple - replace the 50A fuse under the coil!  It hadn't burned, just broken. 

 As with all Alfa problems - look for the simple (& cheap) stuff first.  What
confused the issue was that the pump ran after I got the car home & it cooled
off.  However, when I started checking the car yesterday - nothing from the
pump!  

Local alfa parts source(????!!!!!!) didn't have the fuse (Houston is a desert
when it comes to Alfa parts and service) but the local VW  dealer did (fuse for
Rabbit diesel) (!).  Sorry if I offend the purists but VW can have my $1.30
anytime it gets me back on the road!  BMW & Merceds also have something that
will fit.
