Normal vs. multi-electrode Spark Plugs

Does anyone know the difference between the normal vs. multi-electrode
      spark plugs? Alfa

recommends Golden Lodge multi-electrode plugs for my 75 TS while my
      mechanic recently

recommends a normal, single electrode plug from Bosch (I seem to recall
      that the model number is 5C).

Has anyone tried this before?
