Blown V6 fuel pump relay

Hi Folks,

I've just blown the second fuel pump relay in 3 months on my 90.

As best as I can tell, the only thing that seems to go is 88d (12 volts
to the main fuel pump). If I use an alternative 12v supply (tail lights)
for the fuel pump, then everything works just fine.

Being the second one in 3 months seems to indicate a fault external to
the relay itself: Fuel pump drawing too much current? Too high an input
voltage?

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Tony
