Hi, I must have missed the beginning of this string somehow.  But here is my
two cents.  Being a Mercedes owner may make me a little prejudiced but their
record of recalling cars for even a possibility of a safety problem is well
documented.  They have a huge reputation to protect and might, as some
manufacturers have done, try to cover up defects instead of fix them but they
don't.  When the new A class was shone by some television show to be a tipover
problem.  They recalled all the cars for improvement and redesigned the models
coming out of the factories.  I can get more examples to argue my case, but
for people not interested in Mercedes it would be boring.  I will just say
that Mercedes relies on repeat customers and long-term ownership, they keep
this by maintaining their rep with service not cover-ups.
