On one of my bikes, an Aprilia RS125, with a 54mm stroke
and peak power just short of the red line at 10750rpm,
mean piston speed at a 90 mph cruise (9000rpm) works
out at 3240fps.Mind you, piston rings are a service item
at 6000km!

Specific horse power works out at about 228bhp/l at the
back wheel, and a fair bit higher at the crank.
