Smallwood's Giulia TI may be out

John Smallwood's Giulia TI suffered rear suspension damage after going
off the road during Day 16 of the The Shield of Africa rally, and may be
out of the competition.
The car's reportedly driveable, but not safely. Neither Smallwood, who
is navigating, nor British rally driver Howard Paterson, were hurt.
Paterson and Smallwood had the only Alfa Romeo in the FIA sanctioned
pre-1971 manufacture rally that began September 6 in Cape Town. The
rally contains multiple timed sections daily over 11,000 kilometers.
Daily bulletins from the rally organizers showed Paterson and Smallwood
as high as sixth overall at one point in the competitive class. Porsche
911s and Ford Escorts were the strongest competition, and drivers and
navigators came from numerous countries.
