i tried the dyno approach with a few guys on the digest. we all went in
on it and saved a lot of money for the run.(thanks stever, zamani)

i was, however, disappointed with the numbers. and the dyno guy made fun
of my car. here is his picture:

he seemed to cater to lowered integras, anyway.
but it was a good time to see everyone, talk cars....

Here is something I tried:

i did buy a little gizmo called a G-tech for $149. It is an
accelerometer. It measures horsepower, 0-60, cornering g-loads, and 1/4
mile numbers. All you do is input the weight of your car, the little
radar detector-like box calculated the acceleration (gyro), and the
remaining variable can be calculated.
nice thing about the g-tech is that you can take a measurement, futz
with your car (change timing for example), and go again to see what
RELATIVE difference it made on HP. Cheaper and more convenient than
having to pay for dyno time.
