Handbrake ratchet

     The handbrake has been getting harder and harder to set in position on 
     my 82 Spider. the ratchet doesn't seem to hold. I took out the 
     ratchet, and it seems to be OK. The pawl and shaft was replaced a year 
     or two ago. Should the teeth on the ratchet be very sharp? They are 
     all slightly rounded but don't look worn. Any thoughts?
