You are unforntunately incorrect on point #1 about Honda being the first to go
with a transverse FWD layout other than BL. In 68 Simca, then owned by
Chrysler, introduced the 1100 in Europe and in 69 in the U.S. with a slightly
larger engine thus the Simca 1204. It was imported through 71. This was not
the last of Simca in the U.S. since the follow up model was transplanted into
the U.S. in 1978 renamed the Dodge Omni / Plymouth Horizon. In fact besides
owning both 69 and 71 Simcas, I also owned a 83 Omni with the then bored,
stroked and renamed Peugot 1.6 liter engine.
