Chris:
My 1987 Milano Gold did not come with a first aid kit.  If your are
talking about the compartment behind the rear deck, I always thought it
was for the optional Ear phones kit for the rear seat passengers.  Ear
phones when not in use could be stored there. I think I know this from
advertising literature.  My owners manual does not mention the
compartment on the rear shelf.
