Lawrence Gowin, have you learned anything regarding the 'Exloding fan'? 
Have you any idea of what caused it to explode?  Something other than a
poor installation?  Something is wrong and simply installing an electric
fan will not correct  the problem which may very well be broken motor
mounts.  Are you thankful you managed to stay away from bodily harm? 
Have you noticed how many inexperienced Alfa owners ask for advice
before they tackle a job they know nothing about?  Don't be ashamed to
ask for advice, ever.
