copper fuel lines and suspension engineering

IMHO copper fuel lines are a definite no-no. Copper work hardens with
vibration and becomes brittle--perhaps okay if you really wanted a
Firebird instead of an Alfa...:-) The proper flaring tools and tubing
benders for steel tube are available from Eastwood Co. and others for
not very much money.

For those interested in discussions of technical issues and the history
of suspension engineering, I recommend _Race Car Vehicle Dynamics_ by
William F. and Douglas L. Milliken, published by SAE International.
This book is available directly from SAE or from Classic Motorbooks.
