i would appreciate if everyone participating in this particular flamefest
would please settle down a bit.

tempers are getting too hot, and words are flying.

as a reminder, it is 1) bad form to post excerpts from off list
correspondence to the list unless you have permission, and 2) if
you find yourself writing something nasty enough that you decide
to take it off list, consider deciding to not send it at all.
