[alfa] FS: 1978 Alfetta Sport Sedan



I am sadly forced to consider selling my Alfetta.  It
is a gem of a car--probably the best Alfetta in
existance.  No rust--was restored 10 years ago,
inclulding the removal of all glass and proper
re-installation to (hopefully) avoid any future rust
appearing.  Paint is near perfect--no orange peel,
VERY straight body.  Paint alone cost $4000 ten years
ago (which was an amazing amount to pay for a paint
job at the time).  It has 10 years of use, so there
are a few small rock chips, but overall still a very
excellent paint job.  Original color--that vintage
70's cream/off white.  Looks like butter when it's
freshly waxed.
Has petronix modified distributor, original SPICA (in
good shape--was checked out by Stewart Sandeman at
APC).  
Lowered to a more "proper" height, with 15in
Panasports on Pirelli P4000 rubber.  Transaxle shifts
perfectly, even when cold.  Engine burns a proper
amount of oil.  All rubber flex joints replaced last
fall.    
All electrics work properly--has Milano 85a
alternator.
Speaking of Milano, the warped gauge needles (VERY
common on Alfettas) have been replaced with the
needles from a Milano last summer when I had the dash
out to replace the fan.  Also replaced all the dash
bulbs, cleaned contacts, ect.
New FAZA exhaust--I got the last remaining middle
section Al had, and these are NLA from every other
source, unless there's a source I don't know about. 
Has bolt-in "test pipe", and I have the cat that goes
in there in my garage somewhere.
Has over $2000 of stereo equipment installed,
including Eclipse amp and speakers (6x9 in rear, 6 1/2
in front in a custom enclosure in the footwell at the
A-pillar so as not to have made ugly cutouts in the
body), a high end Blaupunkt head that includes
real-time sound adjustment that adjusts the volume and
equalizer depending on interior noise (very slick, and
seamless).  Also Rockford Fosgate 1-farad capacitor
for the system at the battery, and Monster wiring used
all around.  Wiring is in place for a subwoofer in the
trunk, so if you want one, you just buy the box and
plug it in.  I never felt the need.  Remote control
also, since it's not ergonomic to reach the radio
controls while driving.  
Has Milano seats that are currently being fitted with
color-matched vinyl to match the light and dark brown
of the interior door and carpet.  
Mileage unknown--OD says 95,000, but not very
important since the total restoration was done about
20,000 miles ago.  Why was it restored, you ask?  I
can't answer that for sure, but the previous owner
really loved the car, and decided it was worth it. 
Restoration was done by Stewart Sandeman at APC.  
I am the second owner, having bought the car in August
of 2003.  Why am I selling?  Right now it is my daily
driver, I am taking a new job about 30 miles from my
home, and I don't want to put this beautiful car
through all that, so I'm going to need another car to
drive every day.  I have a Spider in the garage
already, and I just can't justify having 3 cars.  I
hate even the concept of selling it, but if I don't it
will probably end up sitting undriven--probably the
saddest thing I could imagine.  
I paid $4500 for the car (worth every penny), and have
put over $4000 into it in the last year--mostly
upgrades.  Make me an offer that won't make me cry.
