[alfa] Re: GTZ??

Owen in "Alfa Romeo - Always with Passion" says on page 112: "... This
became the Giulia GTZ (Gran Turismo Zagato), which became universally
known as the Tubolare; it was said that this was because of the tubular
space-frame that carried the body panels,...."

But David Styles in his "Alfa Romeo, the Spirit of Milan" says, on page
120 that "The Giulia TZ ('Tubolare Zagato')" (notice the quotes), "as
it was called, established an enviable reputation for itself..."

Tabucci says in his book "Guide to the Identification of Alfa Romeo
Cars" on page 82, that " After the first, unofficial G.T.Z. (Gran
Turismo Zagato) denomination, the model assumed the designation Giulia
TZ (Tubolare Zagato, or Tubular Zagato) as the chassis was made of
small diameter steel tubing..."

Looks like everybody is correct. They called the car by both
appellations. Confusing huh?
