Can someone please tell me how to tension a new window regulator in the '72
Spider? When I replaced the one in my Sport Sedan, there was a ratchet in
the winder which took up the slack, but I feel none in this one, bought from
Centerline, who also have no idea. I have no great faith in the quality of
this piece; one of the 3 mounting studs broke off at the mere suggestion of
snug. But a lot of cable slack remains with everything threaded, and the
movable tensioners on the door moved to their limits.
AROO's gurus either shrugged their shoulders or suggested changing to the
solid bar regulators out of a Giulia. If I had them, I would. And it is a
month when Oregon Spiders really need to roll up their windows.
Anyone know how to make these things work?
TIA,
Joe Cantrell
