[alfa] Spider Sheet Metal Needed

Christopher, you didn't say what year the Spider is. In any event the 
chances are the donor nose piece (if found) will also have been crunched 
badly at least once in its past. The upper panel is available brand 
spanking new and manufactured by Alfa herself.

Yes, you or your bodyman will have a lot of fun removing the old one 
since the seams are filled in, but at least you will end up with a 
straight, virgin panel. I suspect they're available in the US of A, but 
a while back I ordered the complete set for a  client's Round-Tail - top 
panel, center reproduction with bump and partial grill surrounds, and 
aftermarket lower apron from Highwood. Client had done the research and 
found that Chris at Highwood had all three panels in stock. Not 
inexpensive but nice to be able to work with fresh panels.

The car they went on and an additional Round-Tail's upper panel, both in 
the shop at the same time, had at one time been cut vertically 
approximately six inches from the passenger side headlamp nacelle, then 
the entire rest of the upper panel was welded to it. The problem in both 
cases is that when welding, there was some fairly serious warping - 
which is extremely difficult to impossible to shrink.

Whatever you end up doing, this is a great time to hammer out all those 
dents in the lower apron once the top has been removed.
