[alfa] Re: [DeTomaso] AC System Maintenance Info- Second GenerationRefrigerant

hi all,

i am re-posting this cuz someone cut-n-pasted an
entire digest on the daily list where i first posted,
& i dunno if if it got thru. and jack, if yure
worried, i suggest staying away from any pantera (or
any other car) w/134a in it, as it's even more
flammable than r12a...

my prewious post:
hi all,

are these hc-based products flammable? yes - almost
as much as r134a... ;~) they're illegal solely to
protect the mfr's/installers of conwentional 134a-type
products; safety is a non-issue. (or a weapon of mass
distraction?) ;~) even greenpeace has approved the
use of hydrocarbon-based refrigerants (more reason for
pantera owners to awoid it?!?) i've had successful
use of this product in several wehicles...

for more technical info, check out this site - one of
a couple i know of that sell this stuff:
http://www.autocool-refrigerants.com/product.htm

here's another supplier:

Add me to your list. Our AC line inside the console
ruptured going
across the
CA desert maybe 50 miles from anything resembling
civilization, fire
extinguishers etc. When the line went, it sounded like
a rifle shot. I
was also
driving a Mangusta in Death Valley in the '80s when
the high pressure
line ruptured
in back, shredding a box of Kleenex thoughtfully left
near where the
line
broke. With that behind me, I will NEVER knowingly
drive a DeTomaso
that has
flammable ac-gasses in it. My 2"- J DeRyke
