[alfa] V6 headers and emissions

Dear digesters;

Just had my 84 GTV6 fail emissions (Mass) after install of CSC headers and a
pair of new cats.
Kept the O2 sensor - installed in the bung that came with the headers.
Headers are ceramic coated.

Sensor is slightly further downstream than in the stock downpipe/cat and
only on one side, and the new cats are in exactly the same location.

First test was done with Kirshtein modified fuel control and spark box,
retest was done with stock electronics put back in. AFM is stock.
Both configurations gave almost exactly the same results --> CO was 3x the
limit, HC about 30% over the limit.

Looks like both levels spike only during one of the mid-speed (30 mph?)
tests, not at idle.

Is it possible that the O2 sensor or cats are not getting hot enough to do
what they need to do?
Any other suggestions/experience out there with this problem?

Thanks,
Kevin Oliver
