[alfa] Movie cars

I'm sure if not many, a fairly good number of you have had cars in
movies / TV commercials. Not to be rude, but how much did you get and
what was expected of you and the car? Feel free to email me off Digest
and the sooner the better, because I'm going to be in negotiations for
two more days with my car later today (Saturday).

I mentioned awhile back my old daily driver ('75 Alfetta GT) might be in
a movie for a day. Just got back from the shoot in Venice (40 miles
away). I was to be there at 4:00 p.m. and was given no ending time or
what was expected of the car. Left at 5:30 a.m. Car was in every shot
and constantly started and driven a short distance, then restarted and
driven off the set - over and over, etc.

I was told ahead of time I'd get $400 for the day and would probably not
be driven at all. The day before, I was told the best they could do was
$300. I'm not saying they couldn't have found another red Alfetta GT
but once I was there the car was as important as the actors since they'd
have had nothing to shoot if I'd decided not to bail. There were about
35 huge trucks and numerous smaller ones. They would have literally been
out multi thousands of dollars if I had been a no show.

So now they want it one or two more days. What would you charge? Be
realistic and yes I'm aware the asking price could vary considerably
depending on whether I ever want to have my car used in a movie
again...or not.
