[alfa] Interesting Electrical Issue

Okay, here's a fun one.

My '78 Spider is having electrical problems (surprise surprise). The #6 fuse is blowing every time I rev above 5500 for very long or take a sharp left turn (#6 = coil, gauges, alternator warning light, and... ?). I have checked all connections and grounds and they are secure, so now I fear that I must just get down and dirty and trace everything to find the short, unless anybody has any suggestions/btdt/places to start. What a great new impression I'll make on the new neighbors, showing up and immediately putting my car up on jackstands.

oh - recent additions:
Crane electric ignition (very suspect, this'll be my first check)
Amplifier (already counted this out. checked everything it touched)
new water pump/thermostat/cylinder head gasket

TIA
Ben Kaupp, Santa Cruz
'78 Spider (at least it stopped overheating)
