I suspect at least _part_ of the reason for the price differential between
identical Maser vs. Alfa parts must be the same reason GM used to charge
more for the same part in a Caddy parts bag than in a Chevy parts bag. They
charged the Caddy customers more because they could.

The question left in my so-called mind is who did the exotic car companies
buy their tail lights from, tail light manufacturers or auto manufacturers?
If, for instance, they had to buy tail lights from auto manufacturers (who
may have owned the rights to the tooling) that might also help to explain
the higher price (just a theory....)
