The two mile paved oval opened on December 7th, 1969, operating through 1973. It reopened in 1991, 1993, and 1996. The original 2.75 and 3 mile paved road courses operated from November 7th, 1969 through 1973, and from 1976 through 1989. The 1.8, 1.9, and 2.9 mile road courses operated from 1991 until 2017.

Texas World Speedway is 70 miles northwest of Houston. Take Hwy. 290 west to Hwy. 6, then Hwy. 6 north to the track. The Speedway is 4 miles south of College Station on Hwy. 6.
