Greer Dragstrip was orginally started in the 50s as a community project. The track opened in 1954 as Jaycee Dragway, operated by the Greer Jaycees Club. It operated from 1954 to around 1977 as a 1/4 mild dragstrip, and beginning in 1978 as a 1/8 mile dragstrip.
